Dr. Moffa obtained an M.S. in biochemistry from West Virginia University and a Ph.D. in medical biochemistry from West Virginia University School of Medicine. While at West Virginia University, Dr. Moffa served as an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry and as the Director of the Dental Biochemistry program. He was also awarded an NIH postdoctoral fellowship in clinical biochemistry during his tenure at West Virginia University. Dr. Moffa established and developed a regional reference laboratory, BioPreps Laboratories Inc, which eventually became part of the LabCorp network. He has served in various capacities as an executive, manager and certified clinical laboratory director. Dr. Moffa has served on the boards of several public and private companies as well as several state and community-based organizations. In addition, he has served as a consultant and advisor to various healthcare organizations and medical laboratory technician training programs. For over thirty years, Dr. Moffa has served as a Medical Laboratory Director for several CLIA-certified clinical laboratories and while now retired, continues to serve as a consultant to the clinical diagnostic laboratory sector.
