Dr. Hubbard has been a registered technologist since 1977. In 1986 he obtained a Ph.D. in Cardiovascular Physiology. He has been teaching clinical hematology in CLS baccalaureate programs for 14 years. Dr. Hubbard has also taught a variety of other subjects such as Urinalysis, Immunology, Laboratory Management, and Research and Development. In the last 5 years he has received six teaching awards. He also has 18 years of continuous hospital laboratory bench experience in hematology. Dr. Hubbard is a member of ASCP, ASCLS, and TSCLS. He has presented in national and state professional society meetings and has presented numerous times through the Texas Tech University Health Science Center Health.edu System. Dr. Hubbard has written chapters in hematology textbooks and has authored A Comprehensive Review of Clinical Laboratory Science, published by Williams and Wilkins. To date, his research interests include the effects of septic shock on the bone marrow, erythropoietin bioassays, and the effects of immunosuppression on malignant cell metastasis.
