Dr. Yvette McCarter is the Director of the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory at the University of Florida Health in Jacksonville and is Professor of Pathology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. Dr. McCarter was recently elected vice chair of The Joint Commission’s Laboratory Professional and Technical Advisory Committee. She is also a member of The Joint Commission’s Laboratory Standards Development Technical Advisory Panel, and the Standards and Survey Procedures Committee, that develops, evaluates and improves standards and national patient safety goals.
