Pegi obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in General Medical Technology and her Master of Arts degree in Biology (Genetics and Immunology) from the University of Colorado. She has been a Medical Technologist for 32 years. She was the Supervisor/Manager of the TDM/Toxicology Laboratory at the University of Colorado Hospital from 1985 to 1997 and the Chief Technologist of the Specials Section (Toxicology, Special Chemistry, Special Coagulation, and Molecular Diagnostics) at the University of Colorado Hospital from 1997 to 2004. Currently, she is the Manager of the Pediatric Clinical Research Center Core Laboratory at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She is an active member of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry, including an officer of the Regional Section of that organization.
